Good solar cables survive

years of environmental influences

For many, the solar cable is just an accessory to the photovoltaic system. In practice, however, this looks different. On the one hand, good quality is crucial in order to minimize unnoticed damage during installation, and on the other hand, the solar line should defy all environmental influences for 30 years. A defective line after several years of operation is often not covered by the guarantee, which can result in unnecessarily high costs for the operator of a photovoltaic system, since the solar lines are usually laid below the solar modules, which makes accessibility considerably more difficult in the event of a fault.

Manufacturers of good cables trust their product and give long guarantees.

Lapp Kabel have a 25-year guarantee on some of their cables.

Key data

In our opinion, a solar line should meet the following key data:

  • Reduced outer diameters enable space and weight-saving installation
  • Reduction of fire spread and the formation of toxic smoke gas in the event of fire
  • High thermal load capacity for long-term function of the PV system in every season of the year

Ambient temperature range according to TÜV 2 PfG 1169 / 08.2007: -40 ° C to 90 ° C

Halogen-free according to EN 50267-2-1 / -2Ozone-resistant according to EN 50396Weather- / UV-resistant according to HD 605 / A1Acid- / alkali-resistant according to EN60811-2-1New text
